I Don't Play Your Rules, I Make My Own

Cassie scowled, getting pulled to her feet by some Death Eater. She pulled her arm, trying to wiggle out. But she was tired and worn out and wasn't as strong as she usually was. Being stuck in a cellar with very little to eat did not suite Cassie at all. However- she wasn't going to go out without a fight and while it did nothing but tire her futhur she continued to writh. She was pulled out of the cellar, the bright light pericing her eyes, she wanted to sheild them with her hands but as they were bound behind her back she couldn't quite do that. She squinted them, wanting to be able to see where she was going.

She was pulled into a room, and roughly let go off, nearly causing her to stumble forward onto her face. But she managed to steady herself and raised her head glaring at the occupants of the room. Cassie was not in a good mood, not in the slightest, she just wished she had the energy to fight. Because then, well, they'd find out exactly why it's stupid to mess with an Evans.

Lyssa, who had been dragged into the drawing room much against her will by Draco, wondered what the hell was going on why there were quite so many Death Eaters in the manor as there were at the moment. She actually didn't approve of it either. They were obnoxious. So, she stood there, glancing around disdainfully. Until she saw Cassie get dragged into the room. Then her eyes widened fractionally.

But, that still didn't explain why all of the Death Eaters were gathered in her drawing room. At least, not until Voldemort, who was the only one seated at the time, spoke. "Tonight," he said in his gravely voice, "I have called you all here to introduce a new member to your numbers, whether they like it or not."

That explained it. Lyssa had to fight to keep her mouth from dropping open.

Cassie did not like the amount of Death Eaters in the room, for the most part she ignored them. Glaring straight at Voldemort. Though her eyes flickered to Lyssa when the girl walked in, accompinaed by her brother. Her's eyes widened at the snake dude as he spoke. There was no way in hell she was going to join the Death Eaters. And he was not going to make her. She glared at him in the most venomous way she could manage. "Heck as likely," She snarled her eyes narrowing dangerously.

Voldemort raised a non-existent eyebrow. "Oh?" he said, tone almost teasing for someone like him. "Well, we will just have to see about that." He took out his wand (oh god! >.<) and looked around the room slowly for a moment, eyes settling on Lyssa. She shifted slightly under the gaze, wishing it would move on.

He motioned her forward and quite hesitantly she complied. Once Lyssa was close enough, Voldemort grabbed a hold on her sleeve and pulled her in closer. "You will join my side, or she will die." Lyssa cast him a panicked glance. "Regardless of any former disputes you've had, I do know that she is someone important to you, as it is not common for a Gryffindor to be fickle about their friends."

Cassie's eyes widened for a moment, looking at him with a look of utter loathing. What could she do? Either join him and become what she hated most in the world, or be the cause of the death of her best freind. She scowled fiercly at him. Of course he would know exactly how to get her to do as she said. Threaten the people she loved most. She wished that there was something else she could do, but there wouldn't be. Voldemort wouldn't be so careless for there to be a loop hole. She scowled again. "Don't hurt her," She said her eyes gleaming darkly.

Voldemort gave a snakish grin. "Then you will do as I say, and you will join my side," he replied. "Now, do you comply to these conditions for the safety of your friend?" He hissed the last word, almost like it meant nothing in the world, a word without a meaning. Lyssa's eyes flickered to Cassie, face pleading. But, it wasn't the kind of pleading one would expect with her life on the line. She was nearly saying with just her expression for Cassie to say no.

Cassie scowled at him, which she seemed to do a lot of. She was unsure of what to do, Lyssa was telling her no, and so was part of her. But the other part of her was ready to say yes, to cave in. Because she didn't want Lyssa hurt, not if she could do something against it. She clenched her fist, her nail digging harshly into the palm of her hand. "Fine," She snarled, wanting very much to say no. But she couldn't.

Lyssa's pleading look sank to one of anger. "Stupid!" she said sharply to Cassie, jumping as Voldemort moved her even closer. "Are you displeased to be one of my Death Eaters, Melyssa?" he hissed. Lyssa' body tensed up and she forced herself to shake her head. "Well, I think you are," he went on, "so rest assured that I'll be keeping an eye on you until I'm sure of your loyalty." Then he moved her away again, returning his attention to Cassie. "Fine, you say?" And with a swish of his wand her bindings were undone. "Prove that it's fine and extend your arm."

Cassie looked at Lyssa, giving her a look that was like a shrug. Showing without words that she couldn't just let her die. Cassie swallowed turning back to Voldemort. SHe felt somewhat queesy, staring at him for a moment. Her hands limply by her side. She didn't even feel somewhat relived that her arms were no longer bound tightly behind her back. She gave Voldemort a dark look, glaring straight at him. She pushed her arm out, forarm facing up, swallowing hard.

Voldemort gave Cassie a near triumphant look and let go of Lyssa rather roughly so that she stumbled slightly. Then he looked at Cassie and raised his wand, ready to do the spell that would mark her. Yada yada yada...

Cassie turned her head away from her arm, looking directly at the floor. So she didn't need to see the leering faces of the Death Eaters, or the site of her arm becoming tattooed with the sign ofwhat she was vehemently against. Her arm seared in pain as the spell was cast. Cassie kept her eyes away from her arm, not wanting to look at it.

Lyssa wanted everything to pull Cassie away from Voldemort, but Draco had discreetly pulled her back over to where they had been standing before. So, she compromised by looking away. A moment later it was over and Voldemort spoke. "I give you the newest of my Death Eaters." Followed by him dismissing everyone again.

Cassie swallowed hard again, her arm dropping to her side. She pulled her sleeve down over the mark. Biting down on her lip and glaring at Voldemort, she felt even more zapped of energy then she had been and wanted to throw something breakable into a wall.

As they had all been dismissed from the room, Lyssa walked over to Cassie and attempted to at least pull her out into the hallway. "C'mon, Cass," she said, pulling on her friend's arm.

Cassie pulled her arm out of Lyssa's grip but obliged by walking out of the room. She wound her right arm around her stomache leaving her left hanging limply by her side.

Lyssa followed after her. "Cassie...." she muttered. "I was telling you to say no to him. Why the hell did you say yes?"

"He wouldn't have just stopped at killing you to get his way, he would have targeted my family next. I'm not going to let them, let you die because of this." Cassie stood in the hall, unsure of where she was going.

Lyssa frowned. "Then you could have said no for me, and then given in later, because Cassie," she looked around before leaning in and whispering, "I would have rather died than be stuck with this lifestyle."

"Well I wasn't going be the reason for your death," Cassie snarled.

"You would have been doing me a favor if you had!"

"I don't care! Where am I going now?" She asked, wanting to be on her own.

Lyssa shrugged at the question. "I wouldn't know. I'm not in on anything except stupid little things like what just happened. I'm apparently not trustworthy."

Narcissa appeared and took Cassie up to a room, once she got to the room Cassie entered in and slammed the door behind her. She wanted to throw something but there was nothing in the room that would be satasfying to throw.

Lyssa sighed and went to her own room, falling back on her bed and looking up at the ceiling. Today had been...interesting to say the least.

Cassie wanted a picture frame or something, but she didn't, so she settled for punching her fist into the wall until her knuckles started to bleed and she slumped against it, worn out and furious.
