Vena and Silver (Cj and Tsuki)

Potions, what a dull and dreary class. It was an easy class, and overall unecessary for me to take, but it was required and so I did, enduring the agony of it everyday except most weekends, when there was no homework, and maybe a visit to Hogsmeade here and there.

I fought back the need to recline in my seat, and prop my feet up. That would just make the teacher mad when they say it, and I really didn't feel up to an angry teacher breathing fire down my back. Not when I was already annoyed enough at a particular person. Vena Riddle.

I glared at her across the room. What was her problem with everyone anyways?

I sighed. Potions. It was boring, but then every class was boring. At least for me it was. Magic was simple once you learn the basics you can do alot.

"Ok Class we are going to do a project that will go for a month." The teacher said once everyone was seated as he was ready to begin.

"What Sir?" Someone asked rasing their hand.

"Veritaserim, a truth potion."

My eyes gleamed evily. Was this teacher insane? If brewed wrong it could be fatal but if brewed right...I smiled, I think I will take a porton of this potion with me at the end.

"You will be working it pairs-" The teacher continued.

I perked up a little hearing we would be making Veritaserum. I had always wanted to make some of that, but I never had access to the necessary ingredients. This would be fun.

But unfortunately my mood diminished significantly when the teacher went on to say we were working in partners. I scowled when I thought of who my usual partner for everything was. Vena Riddle. The same girl I had been glaring at not two minutes before.

All the teachers had a weird obsession with pairing us together for everything, or sending us after one another when we skipped a class. It was annoying really, but after a while I supposed you'd get used to it.

I laughed to myself. Like that was every going to happen. Vena Riddle was one of the only people who could dig under my skin and rile me up so much I actually saw red. Most other people just ticked me off to the point where I told them off, but not her; not Vena. She was a whole other story.

I sighed when the teacher said pairs. Pairs? please no. I could do this with my eyes shut a pair would just hold me back and I had a slither on an idea who I was going to be paired with.

Silver Blackridge. The teachers seemed to find it amusing to pair us up for everything. It seemed that they were all apart of the "Make Riddle and Blackridge misrably society." I sighed as the teacher started pairing people up.

"Riddle, Blackridge.'

I cursed loudly, thankfully in my mind rather than out loud or else I would have gotten a detention. Why the hell was it always her? What reason did the teachers have for doing this to us? I sighed as I heard the other students shuffling around the room to their partners, so they could get started.

There was no point in them doing so. From what I had read about this particular potion, it was incredibly difficult. The only people who could successfully pull it off currently in the room were: the teacher, Vena Riddle, and me. I hated to admit it, but Vena was one hell of a witch, with two meanings to the word. One, her spell casting was great and then there was the Muggle meaning, as in she was a bitch.

I had no intention of moving from where I was seated, so if she wanted to get started it would up to her to come over here.

I stayed where I was sitting if Blackridge wanted to start this project she could come over here. I grumbled at the teachers. Why was I always with her? She was one of the most annoying people on the plannet. I sighed and wondered what was going through the teachers' mind with always putting me and Blackridge together. I wondered if she was going to come over here or if we where going to sit on opposite sides of the room all class.

She didn't seem to want to move, but I wasn't going to. That would almost be like giving her what she wanted. Besides, I could make this potion alone if I wanted to. It didn't seem too hard for me, while most everyone else was confused out of their minds. That was when I got an idea.

Maybe the teachers paired us together because we were the best two students, and since we had higher skill levels than the others we would be frustrated at them, and so we got paired up to avoid us exploding at and maybe mauling someone else. It was all coming together.

I shook my head. None of the teachers were smart enough to think like that, let alone all of them. It must just be a coincidence. That was all. Sighing, I stared up at the ceiling for a moment, chair leaned back, feet on the table like I had planned to do earlier. Then I closed my eyes and drifted into a slight, bored sleep.

I smirked slightly. Blackridge wasn't moving either. I stared into space wondering why the teachers always paired us up. It couldn'tbe mearly coincedental, the teachers were probably plotting something but waht?

"Miss Riddle?' The teacher said, I turned tolook at him.

"Yes?"

"Are you going to go sit with your partner?"

"I am waiting for her to come here."

"Well you are going to go over there, or I shall fail you on this project."

I stared incredulas at the teacher. What fail me because I didn't want to move? That was just stupid. They couldn't do that, could they? ANyway I could brew this potion on my own I didn't any help but never the less I didn't want to be failed to I stod up and walked over to Blackrdige.

"Morning sunshine." I muttered dryly as I found out she was sleeping. "Its time to start our potion."

I growled lightly when I heard something speaking to me. I opened one eye halfway and looked at whoever it was. Then I closed it back again, seeing it was Riddle. I wasn't in the mood to work with her right now, and I was tired from being up late doing homework that I put off til the last minute again.

Unfortunately, I pushed the chair too far back in an attempt to get more relaxed and overbalanced the chair, making it fall back. Of course I fell with it and hit the hard floor, well hard.

I cried out in pain, and sat up, rubbing the back of my head. A few light stars flashed before my vision, but then disappeared. That fall was going to cause me a major headache later.

I smiled watching Silver fall back.

"That's Karma for you. Now can we start our potion or not?" I muttered realising I was being slightly hypocritical. Talking about Karma and what not. But I supposed the world got me back on a slightly larger scale then making me fall backwars on my chair.

"Cause if we dont start now it will take us a few extra days as it needs a month to creat it." I yawned. "And im extreamly bored and what to do soemthing"

I got up and fixed my chair back. "I don't believe in Karma," I said sitting down on it again, and leaning back a bit, but not as much as before.

"So you really so bored you're willing to work with me civilly for once? I'm not in the mood to fight about every little thing, and my back and head hurt like crazy right now."

"The amazing thing is im bored enough to actually talk to you." I muttered. "And I would like a good ggrade on this project so we do need to work together to get a good grade, this is why I prefer working on my own." I twirled my wand. "So shall we start?"

I glanced at Blackridge. "And I dont care that your head and back are hurting." I added standing up to get the first ingrediants from the store room.

"Stop being so bored. It's weird when you're willing to talk to people," I muttered.

"Yeah, grades, working on the potion, whatever..." I muttered, closing my eyes again. "You can start. You can probably do it by yourself anyway, so me sleeping won't hinder the potion in any way."

I was almost asleep, when there was a crash somewhere on the other side of the room, which woke me back up and nearly made me topple the chair again.

"Yea cause talking to people isnt weird." I muttered sarcasticly yawning. "What and let you get the credit for my work? No way." I walked into the store room and pulled ingrediants off the shelve. I heard a crash and rolled my eyes thinking some idiot had dropped a scale. I left the store room and smirked as I saw some kid covered in the first few steps of their potion with the pot rolling on the floor.

I snickered. How the hell do you drop a caldron that just doesn't work.

Once she was back I commented on her comments before she went to get ingredients. "Let me rephrase. It's weird for you to talk to people. Usually you just brood."

"And, I'll help with the potion....when I'm less tired. But for right now all I want to do is sleep. Is that so wrong?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yea well people surprise you sometimes." I replied fiddling with the fire and glancing at the first line of the potion and following it.

"What so when I want to sleep in class, you'll do the potion on your own?' I asked. "wait nevermind you'd probably just blow it up."

"I hate surprises..." I said with a yawn.

I heard, rather than saw or felt, the fire and looked at it, and sitting up in the chair.

I glared at her. "I would not blow it up. I could do it by myself, just as well as you could."

I scowled and turned away from her, arms crossed.

I shruged. "Then technecly you should hate people because they are full of surprises." I muttered.

"Well then go do your own, I'll do my own. I doubt we'd be allowed thouhg. Pity. It'd be easier on my own." I yawned glancing at the instrutions again.

"Technically," I said, "I do hate people. Have you ever honestly seen the number of people I get along with? Like zero."

"I'd do it on my own anyway. It would be way easier, but since the teacher obviously cares to much about upsetting the dimwits, we'll both have to put up with."

I watched the flame dance back and forth, not paying attention to the actual potion. And fire was the reason I never skipped this class on occassion.

"So what exactly are you doing?" I asked, having not gotten my book out to read the directions.

I rolled my eyes again. "Nah more then zero. I get along with zilch." I muttered.
"Get out your book and at least pretend to follow along." I muttered thinking that once the potion was ready I was going to steal some of it. It would be nice to have my own store of Veritaserim.

"You seriously think I get along with people?" I said with a little laugh. "I tolerate them, but that doesn't mean much."

I rolled my eyes at her, but got my book out anyways. I didn't want the dimwits mad because I lost them points for no participating in the lesson or whatever.

"You still get on with them." I muttered give the mixture a twirl then glancing at my watch. The lesson only had a few minutes left which was a good thing.

The bell rang I gathered my books and chucked them into my bag.

"Leave your potions where they are, in your next class you will continue with them. You are dismissed." Said Professor.

I slung my bag over my shoulder and left the class room.

"Whatever," I muttered, looking at the ceiling, and counting the cracks.

Then the bell rang a few moments later.

I put my chairs legs back on the floor and put my stuff up. I walked out and down the crowded hallways to my next class, which at the moment I couldn't remember, but I did remember that Riddle was in it, and she was right in front of me, so I just decided to kinda follow her to see if I could remember.

I walked down the hall way weaving in and out of people on the way to my next class. What irked me alot that I had almost every class with Blackridge and with her being in my house it was almost impossible to escape her expeccialy as the teachers seemed all to be a part of the "make Riddle and Blackridge misrable society."

Riddle ended up leading me to the DADA room. I groaned to myself. I did not want to go to that class, but it was too much of a bother to go elsewhere when I was already there, so I went in anyway. I sat at the very back like always and hoped today wasn't one of the days the teacher decided to pair us off. I wanted to sleep.
